Having dated and eventually married a research scientist, I know more than most about microbiology, oncology and molecular genetics, and about the long hours researchers put into their work. Most of them are truly “unsung heroes.”

Attaining an interview with my husband’s boss and friend, the now late Dr. Arun Fotedar, and getting him to talk about how he engages the right people to do this highly important work was actually pretty simple.
